Update! - Moving/Job/Life & Contest!!!

Hello!
Welcome Back to ABC!

I am so sorry to everyone for being MIA the past few weeks. Things have been very hectic around here for a while. So, I just wanted to get on, and post a small update.

Read until the end for a contest!

First of all, yes, we did just move about 2 weeks ago. But now, my fiancĂ© (AJ) and I are looking for our own place now. Currently, we are living with his mother. We have a few apartments we are going to look at on Tuesday afternoon, and I am really hoping that one of them are the ONE!

Also, I just got a new job! I will be working at a local grocery store, called Shaw's. Yes, its a grocery store, but it is a job, and money. I am very excited for this job.

So, basically, my life is going to be pretty hectic for a while. Therefore, I will be posting one post a week, rather than every 2-3 days. I think I will be posting on Wednesdays from now on. They will always be posted between 11am-4pm Eastern Time.

I have a list of Looks I am going to be doing, and different things I am going to do. I think I will be using the same posting schedule every month...
Week 1: Tutorial on a Look
Week 2: Week 2 Tips
Week 3: Tutorial on a Look
Week 4: Product Review / New Products
Occasionally, when there is a week 5, I will do some type of Swatches of my Collection, such as Lippies, Eye Shadows, Blushes, etc.

If anyone has any requests, or recommendations, for a post, please let me know!

I am looking for someone to design a photo I can use as my signature at the end of my posts. I would like for it to say "XOXO- AudreyBreeanne". But I encourage you to use artistic freedom!

Welcome back to ABC, everyone!

Today, I am going to post a tutorial for the look above. I am calling it an Everyday Glam look. It is a bronze, cat eye with a pinky purple lip.
Just a disclosure - my skin is kind of horrible right now. I have a lot of acne from stress and hormones. The main ones you will see are on my cheek, eye lids, and one right below my nose above my cupid's bow. Please just excuse them!
I also used my BH Cosmetics 3rd Edition 120 Eye Shadow palette. The photo of the Numbering System I use is below!
I hope you all enjoy this look!

BH Cosmetics 3rd Edition 120 Eye Shadow Palette Numbering System

Step 1:
First, I filled in my brows LIGHTLY using my Femme Couture Perfect Arch Soft Powder Brow Pencil in Dark Brown. Then, I used my eos lip balm on my lips, and my e.l.f. Eyelid Primer on my eyelids, and just blended that out.
After allowing the Primer to dry for about 20 seconds, I applied my Crease shade (Tray 1 Row B #2)(Right). Then used my Transition shade (Tray 1 Row D #2)(Left) to blend out my crease shade.

Step 2:

I then used (Tray 2 Row E #1) for my Outter V (outter corner of my eye). Then I used my transition shade to blend this color out just bit.

Step 3:

Then I used (Tray 2 Row B #1) All over my lid. I covered the outter v shade also, but the darker color still came through as darker than the rest of the lid.

Step 4:

At this point, I felt that the look was still a little too bland, so i decided to add a brighter gold color to just the CENTER of the lid. I used (Tray 2 Row F #2). I forgot to take a picture of this step on my eye, so you'll be seeing it after I've added liner. I used e.l.f. Liquid Liner in black.

I also used my e.l.f. Brightening Eyeliner Kohl Pencil to Tightline my eyes.

Then, I just added Maybelline the Falsies Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara. And the Eyes are done.

Step 5:

To Finish the Look--

I used my L'Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation in N1-2. I applied this with my generic brand beauty blender sponge.

Then to conceal and brighten under my eyes, i used my Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer in Ultra Light. I applied this with my fingers, and blended it out with a paddle style, traditional foundation brush. This is currently my favorite way to blend out my concealer. I also applied this to the bridge of my nose, above my cupid's bow, chin, and center of my forehead to down between my brows.

To set my Foundation and concealer, I used my Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Honey/Medium 3-4. I applied this with a fluffy, powder brush.

To contour, I used an eyeshadow from the BH Cosmetics Palette (Tray 1 Row E #2). I contoured my cheek bones, temples, jawline and neck. Sorry, I don't have a photo of this....

For Blush, I used Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso. I used an angled contour/blush brush to apply this to the apples of my cheeks.
Then i used a stippling brush to blend the contour and blush on my cheeks together.

To Highlight, I used my Hard Candy Bronzer in Tiki. I have NO idea why this is classified as a bronzer, as it is OBVIOUSLY a highlight.... I highlighted the high points of my cheek bones, down the bridge of my nose, center of my forehead to between my brows, cupid's bow and my chin.

For my lips, I lined and filled them in with Rimmel London Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in Red Diva. (no photo again. sorry!)

Then, I applied Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Rose Hip.

Here is the final look! -

I hope you guys enjoyed this look! Let me know down below if you have any requests on future looks!

How To: Clean Your Makeup Brushes in LESS THAN 10 STEPS!

Hello!! Welcome back to ABC.

This last week, and the next week, has been and will be crazy busy with us moving and everything. I am also not sure when the internet/wifi will be hooked up at our new home. So, I am going to TRY to blog a little from my phone. Those will not have pictures. So, I will probably just do short and simple ones.
Since I was unable to sit down and do a makeup look, which took me about 1.5hrs for the last one, I decided that I would do a quick How To Clean Your Brushes tutorial! This is SUPER simple, less than 10 steps!

Lets get started!

Step 1: Lay out Brushes

You will want to grab ALL of your brushes that need to be cleaned. I lay them out on a plate, so they don't roll off the counter, onto the floor, and they are at easy access for me to grab. Also, because when they are wet, they NEED to be laying on their sides!

Step 2: Wet the Brush

Under warm water, I hold the brush at a downward angle. The water should only hit the hairs of the brush. Try to keep the hand that holds the handle dry! If water gets between the metal part and the handle, it could cause the glue to loosen and the handle to fall off. (If the handle does fall off, I use clean nail polish or super glue on the handle, and stick it back into the metal piece, lay down and let dry several hours.)
Step 3: Dispense Soap/Antibacterial Cleaning Product

Next, you want to dispense a SMALL amount of soap to your wet hand. (Excuse my prune fingers. I washed 10 brushes before this photo.) I use this AMAZING Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Shampoo. First, the smell is amazing. Second, it has Tea Tree oil in it. Tea Tree has Antibacterial Properties, which makes it perfect to clean brushes. The main reason we clean brushes is to reduce breakouts, which are caused by what?? BACTERIA! So, this shampoo will KILL the bacteria that clings to the pores of the hair on your brush. If you notice you're breaking out more than normal, ALWAYS wash your makeup brushes first, and throw away any sponges. You can use Antibacterial Hand soap, baby shampoo, or special brush shampoo you can find at any beauty supply store. Such as Sally's, Ulta, or Sephora.

Step 4: Apply Soap to Brush

Now, you want to dip the tip of the brush in the soap you chose to use. I normally just cover the tips of the hairs with soap. That is normally my guideline to tell me that I have enough soap on the brush to efficiently clean it.
Step 5: Clean the Brush

On your still damp hand, you will want to rub the soap into the hairs by doing circular motions. You will want to do clockwise and counter-clockwise motions. If you feel the brush isn't making enough bubbles, or lather, just add a little more water to the brush and continue moving the brush in circular motions. Do this for about 20 seconds.

Step 6: Rinse the Brush

Doing the same circular motions as before. But this time, UNDER the running water. Again, be sure the brush is at a downward angle. Rinse until the water runs clean, and no more suds.

Step 7: Wring out the Hairs/ Shape the Brush

Now, just gently squeeze out the excess water, and shape the brush. The shape will not look identical to the before (Dry) brush. Just be sure to make sure they're are not any hairs that are shedding, or sticking out in crazy directions. Just get it in the general shape as it should be when dry.

Step 8: Set Aside

Now, Just set the brush aside while you finish cleaning the rest of your brushes.

Step 9: Let Dry

So, for this, you will want to fold a towel up. Make sure one side is thicker than the other side. Lay this on a FLAT surface. Now, lay the brushes on the towel, with the hairs on the LOWER side, and the handle on the THICKER side. If you have any double ended brushes, I start by putting the bigger brush head side on the lower side, and then just rotate every 2-3 hours. Let the brushes dry for 6 hours or so.

So, there you have it! Brush Cleaning in 9 steps! Can't get any easier than that!
